28th - 29th November 2021 Shelly Beach Ceduna

We packed up and left today it is still cloudy and cold, wind is annoying.
We were expecting to go through a check point at the border so made sure we had all the paperwork ready, it is like in hitler days " have you got your pappers", it didn't happen so we continued along the highway noticing the large amount of trucks and very few cars, the excessive trucks are due to the strike action at the Freemantle wharf. There was 4 cars that had broken down, been stripped by passersby and some burnt.
I have always hoped to see a hairy nosed wombat as I cross into SA but unfortunately the only one I saw had not made it across the road.
We hadn't been driving long and the beautiful sunshine came out, a promise of things to come.
We drove for 21/2 houurs, stopped at a pull in area had lunch and was off again.
We pulled into Penong for fuel so I rang the caravan park to book in they said their office closed at 7o'clock  it wasn't until then we realized the time change and didn't have a lot of time to get there. We did make it with 15 minutes to spare.
The park is one of the nicest we have been in, we stayed here in 2019 and loved it, we were too tired to take the camper off the truck so left it for morning, had a lovely hot shower, dinner and bed.
Next morning we woke to magnificent blue skies, when we finally got moving I put washing on while Merv toped up the water tank then we took the camper off the truck, we hadn't had breakfast and the time difference had really thrown us by the time we got around to it it was 11.30.
After lunch we went for a long walk down the beach, we were joined by 2 dogs, a kelpie and a smaller black dog, running around swimming and basically staying with us, we thought they may have belonged to the people who were out in a small boat.
When we got back they followed us to our camp and wasn't leavng me, I  got them a drink of water, while they were drinking I got the chance to look at the smaller dogs tag it had a phone number.
We tied the dogs up till the owner came she was was out shopping, she calls the little one Houdini, they live one street back crom the beach and dogs do all they can to take themselves for a swim, they were lovely energetic dogs, even when they were tied on to our caravan they didn't want me to go to the toilet.
When the owner came she brought chocolates for us and drove back along the beach letting the dogs run ahead.
Merv picked up one of the nicest scallop shells I have seen
Later we went back to the beach Merv with the snorkel me just in my bathers to sit in the warm holes, there was fish everywhere, probably mullet so Merv got his fishing rod and some lures, no luck, I just enjoyed the sun while talking to another lady on the beach.
The evening is so warm we have had snack dinner and drinks outside and don't want to go in, we will enjoy it while we can
