6th - 7th December 2021 Tumby Bay
We left Streaky Bay to continue our travel south. We stopped ar Elliston and had intended on staying we walked out the long jetty, around the beach and around the spectacular cliffs.
We arrived at Tumby bay around 4.30 and booked into the SACWA caravan park, it is only a small site with powered and unpowered sites, we paid $20 for an unpowered site but we had our own toilet and bathroom, water and a free washing machine, this park is not any good for big vans.
They have a very nice grassed bbq area so we had lunch there, it was still quite early so we decided to move on.
The park is directly across from the beach and just along from the jetty.
After setting up we went for a walk to the jetty, people were fishing catching small skippy, mackerel and herring, there was plenty of evidence of squid being caught from the jetty.
We walked around admiring some of the lovely buildings.
Next morning we were up and on the jetty before breakfast hoping to catch some whiting or squid, there has been salmon caught from there in the past couple of days but I didn't really want one of those, there is also kingfish and silver cobler caught there but when we were there it was blowing 50 barstards and freezing cold, we never got a bite.
I did the washing in the first top loader/front loader I have used and was very impressed.
We returned to camp had breakfast then followed the map that took us around town on the street art tour, the town has the most amazing street art.
We came across a very good bakery so had coffee and vanilla slice and bought a couple of pies for dinner.
In the afternoon we walked down to the marina where are some canals with some impressive houses and boats.
