4th - 7th November 2021 Masons Bay
Every day we woke to the sounds of birds and waves, after the morning coffee go for a long walk on the beach, the water has become a lot clearer and as we stroll the beach we se lots of rays in the edges, the children are also down splashing and swimming, makes me wish I was a kid again, I thought about going in but decided I had better let my stitches heal properly, the water is pleasantly warm.
We tried fishing Merv caught 2 very small flathead and we caught a couple of herring, we saw some people out on a 2 man kayak fishing near the inner reefs so we asked bow they went, they only caught one parrot fish so we decided we wouldn't bother putting the rubber boat in we would just try off the beach again as there are plenty of deep holes and the beach
looks perfect for flathead or whiting.

We went along the beach with our bigger gear on Thursday afternoon the weather was calm and warm, it didn't take long after casting and Merv had hooked up a ray, when we got it in it was a delicate process to try to remove the hook and release the ray without being hit with his tail.
When we got the ray swimming away happily we went back to fishing but once again so quick another ray, this one was foul hooked so he took a bit more to get in.
After we released the second one we took our larger gear off and put on floats we didn't want to catch any more ray as we didn't like to hurt them.
The wind had started to blow in so the floats didn't work that well so we went with little hook and sinker, by this time the night was cooling down so we headed back to some music, vodka and snacks, didn't worry about dinner after that.
During the night we had a good thunderstorm, even though we have rain and wind it is not col like a week ago I don't need my blanket for sleeping or even pyjamas.
The morning brought a walk after breakfast, Merv made a tasty date loaf and it was time to catch up on some blog.
Last day we walked out another 4wd track there are still lots of wildflowers about and very big kangaroos, on the road we walked it was very sandy and there was evidence of a big kangaroo fight.
